  1. got one thanks for the info, got it for $849 with lens kit ,shipped and no tax!, thanks

  2. Release in Denmark next week. Only thing I have to decide is if I should go with 18-55 IS kit or 18-135IS kit.

    Main purpose: Video

I have 50mm. 1.8 MK2 as the only Canon lens at the moment.

    thx.

  3. Could you explain the 12 minute limit? What difference would the SDXC cards make? Thank you for your time.

  4. eyepatchentertainmen on February 26th, 2010 at 11:08 pm

none. SDXC cards still have a 12 minute limit each time you press the record button. These 12 minute files are 4GB in size. You can begin recording again immediately after it stops and repeat this process till the card is full.

  5. OoOOOooh Ok Gotcha. So listen, I have XL1s with 16x Manual Servo lens… do you recommend selling my setup and getting this camera once it comes out? Or would you stick to video? Your advice is truly appreciated. Thanks again!

  6. eyepatchentertainmen on February 26th, 2010 at 11:31 pm

Depends on the type of work you do. The image from the T2i will blow away the XL1, but the audio on the XL1 will be far superior.

  7. I’ve seen some sample vids… that thing is amazing. The thing that worries me most is that 12 minute limit. I’ve also heard there’s problems with I believe it was th 7D, were if you film for long periods of time (something around 20 minutes) the camera starts getting really hot and then if you keep going it start shutting off the camera, and that the problem is only made worse when film outside under sunlight. Have you encountered this issue?

  8. I find myself in the same dilemma:)

not really sure if the 7x zoom the 135 offers will have a say in the video angles that can be used.
Any comments are appreciated even more if you can share a link for visual representation of the 135

  9. I’m going to try to update from my sony a300 and I’m thinking about the t2i.
I have played around with a canon rebel and from just playing around with i’ve felt more comfortable using that over my sony.
Do you know if there are any drawbacks from going to canon from sony?

  10. @onefreesouljan where did you get it?

  11. does the camera have on screen audio metering levels?

  12. when you say 480p, do you mean 640×480? Or a 16:9 with 480 like YouTube’s 480p res?

  13. eyepatchentertainmen on March 19th, 2010 at 1:22 am

@AdamKaoru It is 480p 16:9 widescreen like a DVD. I would never ever use the mode due to artifacts (aliasing and moire) that are present in this mode.

  14. @eyepatchentertainmen really.. that sucks! I would totally use it if there weren’t those issues, because I always upload youtube vids in standard def anyway. :( That sucks.
I hope they fix it in a firmware update. But this cam is truly amazing at $799.

  16. was is mit deiner schnautze passiert ???

  17. I´ll buy this camera for shure!!! The god of war uses it!!!!!!!

  18. @AdamKaoru If there weren’t what issues? I’m about to go down to the store and pick this camera up today.

  19. @alphadog1x check the comment I replied to:

  20. Maybe the time limit might be FAT32 file system. FAT32 only supports up to 4gigs. How big are 1080p 12 minute videos?

  21. OMG OMG OMGO MGOMGOMGO A CAVE MAN CAN DO IT, WHY CAN’T WE?!? lol

  22. @ngvgnDOTcom
Around 300mb. Trust me, it’s smaller than 1 gb. I had a 1080p video before and it came up with 300 mb in 10 min.

  23. @muhatashim I bet Canon does this so people still buy their camcorders. I just can not see any reason why put a time limit when filming.

  24. @ngvgnDOTcom
If they didn’t put a time limit on it, then the drive will be full.
But there is a good point, why put a time limit, when you can choose how much space you want it to take up.

  25. @muhatashim That should be up the the user. My Sanyo tells me how long it will take before the card fills up.
